Web Content Designer

ByPlus is looking for a Web Content Designer to join our client’s team on a permanent basis.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position applies web design and graphic design skills to support the creation of clean, effective, professional, responsive, accessible, and visually appealing websites, e-newsletters, marketing materials and other publications that are critical to the success of the company. To carry out the position responsibilities, highly technical skills and experience related to graphic design and web development are required, This position must continue to explore, learn about and utilize new technologies.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technologies or related degree or experience.
Minimum experience with web design and graphics production
Strong written and oral communication skills and interaction ability.
Experience with web markup and scripting languages: HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Experience with professional design tools, specifically Adobe Creative Suite with emphasis on Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
Experience with end-to-end management of content management systems, especially WordPress

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Create / enhance website content. Work with the Project Leads to review, edit design, implement, and create new content while improving existing site. Experience with OpenText, building content class templates and workflows a plus.
Support complex web projects that have a high-profile impact and which may extend over long periods of time. Works with accessibility specialists, other web designers, editors, programmers, photographers, and digital media analysts to accomplish project requirements. Works with project manager to prepare project schedules and deliverables and makes recommendations for resource allocation within the section.
Has an eye for design. Creates graphics for website‎ (charts, info graphics, etc). Provides input regarding page design and site branding (including changes to CSS standards.
Conducts research on new applications and software alternatives. Keeps project team and manager informed of new web technologies and communication platforms. Analyzes requirements for web services and recommends appropriate solutions.
Supports information architecture for new web projects.
Collaborates with IT representatives to ensure internal websites are developed in accordance with IT network and security requirements.
