Job Title: COMMUNICATIONS/ SOCIAL MEDIA OFFICER
This individual will oversee the Organisation’s internal and external communications and relations. The person will also be responsible for the social media campaigns – content creation, execution, monitoring and reporting of the Organisation’s activities. He/she will be in charge of Organisation’ social media and marketing plan by building superior customer engagement, website traffic utilizing the necessary platforms.
Job Description:
• Developing and implementing ByPlus social media strategy
• Writing content that is suitable for the organisation social media platforms
• Posting and monitoring ByPlus various social media accounts simultaneously
• Responding to and addressing clients queries and complaints efficiently, professionally and timely
• Driving engagement and conversations with clients and ultimately establishing brand loyalty.
• Identifying tactical and relevant opportunities to engage with potential clients.
• Managing ByPlus website, writing and posting of newsletters and blogs
• Designing suitable templates and fliers for all organic post.
• Work with Management on any other tasks that may emerge as a result of the growth of the Organisation.
Qualification Required:
• A Higher National Diploma or University degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Media Studies or any of the Humanities from a reputable university.
• Minimum of 3 years work experience in a similar role
• Proven experience in media relations and networking
• Demonstrable knowledge and interest in literature and literacy
• Experience with relevant software applications – Corel Draw and Microsoft Publisher
Key Competencies
• Excellent spoken and written English: general ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written and oral form; specific skills in writing articles/stories for the print and electronic media.
• Computer literacy is essential. An intermediate or advanced knowledge of MS office is required
• Time management and multitasking skills – ability to prioritise and track time
• An in-depth knowledge, understanding of and proficiency on social media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest, as well as emerging platforms, etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios
• Passion for social marketing, blogging and use of the Internet
• Strong creative writing skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Team player
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
